The Biggest Loser star laid down the challenge, and ten Tamworth locals are ready to rock when the bell rings on Monday morning.
Gail Harries and Trish Johnson are two of the ten locals who signed up to the Michelle Bridges 12 Week Body Transformation (12WBT), and, the reason for joining was simple.
“If you don’t use it you lose it,” Mrs Harries said.
“Once I finished working on the property I just blew up, and now I need to do something to remain upright and healthy so I can keep up with my grandchildren.”
The program incorporates both exercise and nutrition, and while keeping fit hasn’t been a major issue for Mrs Johnson, eating a healthy diet has always been a battle.
“I don’t like cooking, and the program offers a lot of easy recipes, so I thought I would give it a go,” she said.
“I already go to the gym twice a week, and go walking as well, but I will be looking to increase that to three times a week, but the health, nutrition and motivation is what I am really looking forward to.”
The program has partnered with Rural Fit, and will see the group attend a mentored training session together at the gym once a week, which will also double as a support and social group.
“I have found the thought of starting really scary because of the exercise, but the support we have been getting from Rural Fit already has been great, so I will give it a go – I am just anxious to start,” Mrs Harries said.
“In 12 weeks time I hope to have lost a bit of weight, and just feel a bit healthier and happier.”
