Jamie Foxx talked about his upcoming Mike Tyson biopic movie and how he prepared for the role.
Jamie Foxx is conditioning himself to play as Mike Tyson in the upcoming biopic movie for the boxing legend. Foxx has been working on it for quite some time, and it’s now happening.
Jamie Foxx shares body transformation photos
In June, Jamie Foxx shared several selfies featuring his new body. The singer-actor is apparently working out to achieve Mike Tyson’s muscular built.
“The transformation begins… ‘FINDING MIKE’. It is no secret that I have been pursuing the @miketyson biopic for some time… people always ask me when is it going to happen?… things have finally lined up…” he wrote on Instagram.
According to Foxx, they have started preparing for his new built for a couple of months. His workout routine includes pull-up dips and push-ups.
“A few months ago we started the journey… The first but biggest task is to transform the body… with a regiment of pull-ups dips and push-ups we are off to a pretty good start… we have a ways to go but God willing… yesterday on my good friends @markbirnbaum show. I shared these early pics of the process… like I said we have a ways to go… But I am prepared to get there! #swipeleft TYSON!”
How is Mike Tyson doing?
Jamie Foxx also shared in an interview with Showtime’s All the Smoke, how the legendary boxer has changed. Mike Tyson is happy even if he is no longer inside the boxing ring.
“When we were talking about the movie, I said what’s interesting about Mike is not the ring now, it’s the Mike that we see now,” Foxx said of the boxer, as quoted by World Boxing News.
“When I called Mike one time, I said ‘Mike, how are you doing?’ – And it’s this voice ‘All praise to Allah, my brother I’m just happy’.”
During their conversation, Foxx asked Tyson why he was so happy. The athlete said that he has no money, and no one can take anything from him anymore.
“There are no vultures. Nobody out there trying to take anything from me. So I’m just happy,’” Tyson explained.
“I said ‘that’s the person we’ve got to show’. He’ll tell you ‘I either live on top of the mountain or on the bottom of the ocean. I said to Mike ‘when I play you, I’m going to embody you so well that when I walk into your house your kids will run up and say dad’s home,’” Foxx added.
Foxx on pal Kanye West’s presidential bid
Meanwhile, even if Jamie Foxx is busy preparing for Mike Tyson’s biopic, he still takes time to shares his thoughts about Kanye West’s presidential run announcement.
The actor is not very enthusiastic about West’s plan. While he appreciates his talent as a rapper, he is not supporting West’s plan to run the country.
“Gottdamn right!!! Ain’t got time for the bulls—-t!!!” Foxx commented on a post on Instagram slamming West’s presidential bid.
